As you may know, youth today are exposed to various activities which can lead to many negative consequences such as youth violence, teen pregnancy, school dropout, and substance abuse. This often happens because people, as individuals, gave up on the youth which they were associated with. I feel like people have to take upon themselves to take an interest in the youth of today to prevent this from happening. Every year, I give at least 3 or 4 kids weekly 1 hour lessons free of charge. I just don't listen to them play and give them pointers on how to get better, I figure out their interests and find ways to relate it to music. It doesn't just have to be a music lesson, anything you can do as individual to take interest in the youth today helps. Even something as simple as playing catch or holding a conversation with them.
